M.Sc. Nursing Course

The M Sc Nursing is a two years program. The University examinations are held annually. The teaching is incorporated with clinical experience in respective specialties. The students are required to submit a dissertation as a partial fulfillment of the program. Students are given an experience of organizing a workshop and conference with the support of faculty.

ELIGIBILITY


The candidate should be a RN/RM or equivalent with any state nursing registration council.

The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc Nursing/ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in an institution which is recognized by INC.

Minimum 1 year of work experience after Basic B. Sc Nursing.


Candidate should be medically fit.

The course of study for the PG Degree in nursing shall be a full course extending over a period of complete two years.


The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing provides courses related to adult nursing as well as advanced nursing practice for undergraduate, post-graduate and diploma in nursing students. The department helps the students to develop knowledge, skills and clinical competence in health care settings. The Medical Surgical Nursing Department has conducted various activities as a part of curricular & co-curricular requirements in collaboration with Vydehi multispecialty which has 1608 bedded hospital.


The Department of Community Health Nursing is involved training of under-graduate and post-graduate and diploma in nursing students in the field of Community Health Nursing.

The Department of Obstetrical and Gynecological Nursing provides quality teaching and learning experience for student of under-graduate, post-graduate and diploma in nursing students. The department encourages the students to carry research in areas of reproductive and women’s health.

The department of Child Health Nursing provides courses related to child health nursing within the framework of Indian Nursing council (INC). The courses offer the students the opportunity to identify the needs of children and provide comprehensive care. The department is provides clinical and class room teaching for undergraduate, post graduate and diploma in nursing students.

Department of Psychiatric Nursing helps the students to develop in depth knowledge and skills to deal psychiatric problems and promote mental health for individual, family as well community.
